The Mole Hunt Is the Cover-Up

Sometimes it’s fun to be right.

The moment I read the New York Times exposé about the full-blown panic attack inside what I call the MAGA 9, the innermost chamber of Trump enablers and senior administration officials huddled in the Situation Room trying to figure out how to contain the Epstein scandal, I knew something wasn’t adding up. The reporting was simply too precise. Too detailed. Too quote-heavy.

These weren’t vague recollections. They weren’t anonymous officials paraphrasing events days later. The article contained exact quotations, specific exchanges, and granular descriptions of who said what and when. That’s not how these stories get written unless somebody was taking copious notes, or somebody was recording.

So I said it then, and I’ll say it again now: there’s a leak. There’s a mole. Maybe more than one.

And now comes the next shoe dropping. New reporting indicates senior administration officials are reportedly freaking out over the possibility that recordings, or detailed records, exist from those Situation Room meetings led by Todd Blanche and JD Vance, meetings whose apparent purpose was not transparency for the American people but figuring out how to manage, contain, and ultimately cover up the Epstein files debacle.

Frankly, any idiot who read the Times story should have known that.

What caught my eye immediately was an Easter egg buried inside the reporting. The Times, after undoubtedly having every sentence vetted within an inch of its life by First Amendment lawyers, reported that two participants joined remotely from outside the Situation Room, where electronic devices are otherwise prohibited: Pam Bondi and Kash Patel.

Now ask yourself a simple question.

Who had the greatest incentive in that room, or outside it, to protect themselves, save their jobs, and create a record of what was happening?

Maybe it was just detailed note-taking. Maybe aides were documenting every word. Or maybe somebody hit “record.” And when it comes to Kash Patel, would anyone really be shocked if a recording device somehow found its way into the mix? Would anyone be surprised if others around him thought the same thing was a good idea?

That’s why we’re now witnessing what appears to be a full-scale mole hunt.

But they’re hunting the wrong thing.

Instead of searching for the whistleblower, they should be leveling with the American people.

Rip off the band-aid. Release everything.

Appoint a truly independent Special Counsel, outside the control of the Department of Justice, empowered to follow the evidence wherever it leads, recover every file, expose every fact, and prosecute every predator regardless of title, political affiliation, office, or influence.

That’s what accountability looks like.

Instead, they’re spending time, energy, and taxpayer dollars covering up the cover-up.

And here’s another fascinating detail from the reporting: two people notably were not in the room.

Donald Trump wasn’t there. Neither was Stephen Miller.

Now we’re seeing separate reports that Miller’s influence may be waning and that his wings have been clipped inside the administration. Whether that’s true remains to be seen. But it is certainly curious that the man who has inserted himself into virtually every major controversy of this presidency somehow wasn’t sitting in the room trying to rescue a presidency that is now struggling to stay afloat beneath the crashing waves of the Epstein scandal.

Interesting, isn’t it?

The MAGA 9 is worried that whatever records exist, written, electronic, or otherwise, could eventually see the light of day. They’re worried about congressional investigations. They’re worried about impeachment inquiries. They’re worried about consequences.

Maybe they should be.

We’ll continue following this story wherever it leads, without fear or favor, without blowing smoke or sunshine, and without treating the American people like they can’t handle the truth.
